IVAW: Winter Soldier Baltimore

Saturday Oct 18, 2PM @ 2640 (2640 St. Paul St.)

In March of this year, members of Iraq Veterans Against the War and other vets and active duty soldiers came together in Washington DC for a historic weekend of testimony against the atrocities committed by the armed forces in Iraq and Afganistan under the direction of the United States Government. Winter Solider: Iraq and Afganistan covered everything from the history of the GI resistance movement to the fight for veterans' health benefits and support. But it was just the start. In the months since, IVAW chapters have worked hard to pull together regional Winter Soldier events to carry on the task of telling the real stories of U.S. interventions overseas. The 2640 Project is proud to play host to Winter Soldier Baltimore this Saturday, October 18, from 2-5PM. Join us for an afternoon of testimony and discussion on the true costs of war, and what we can do here at home to support our veterans, work in solidarity with the Iraqi people and end the war. Organized by the Fort Meade chapter of IVAW, contact trey@ivaw.org for more info.

Red Emma's is open Monday through Saturday from 10AM-10PM, and Sunday from 10AM-6PM. Our weekly collective meetings are Sunday at 7PM, and are open to anyone interested in the project, except for the first Sunday of every month, which is closed to everyone except collective members.
Red Emma's is part of IU 660 of the Industrial Workers of the World, one of the only unions to recognize that worker collectives can stand in solidarity with those fighting the bosses as part of one big union.
